A wrap is cut to sit on the shoulder rather than at the neck, and everything about it follows from that. Ours are handwoven to a uniform 180 by 60 centimetres in grade A cashmere and lambswool, handled through every stage in a 250-year-old heritage mill.

How to wear men’s wool wraps and shawls

Men's wool wraps and shawls are worn best with the weight left uneven. Draped square across both shoulders the 180 by 60 cm reads formally and holds without a pin; shifted so one end falls longer it reads more easily and frees an arm. Crossed at the front and tucked under a coat it becomes a layer nobody sees, which is the version most men settle on. Over an overcoat, keep the collar of the coat down so the two lines do not compete.

Grey, charcoal, camel and navy sit under tailoring and ask nothing of the rest of the outfit. Check designs are the outfit, and want everything else kept flat. Wash by hand below 30°C, press the water out rather than wringing, and dry flat away from direct heat; fold along the length rather than hanging, so the shoulder line is never creased. Kept that way, men's wool wraps and shawls hold their drape for years.
